Jamaica

About two months ago, I turned to Doug, ok I didn't turn to him, I texted him, and said, "honey we need a trip. Now. And I think Costa Rica would be a fine place to go :)." A few days later he replied with, "well I have some good news and some bad news (I'm pretty sure this information was shared when I was in a lack of sleep from working induced coma) and he said which do you want first?" I will take the good news first. He said well the good news is that I earned a free trip from the presidents club at work and so we get an all expense paid trip for a week and I don't have to take vacation days... Hmm not a bad gig, what's the bad news I replied... He said well we don't get to choose where we go or who we go with. Hmmmm something I could deal with ;).

Turns out the location was Montego Bay Jamaica and we were going with some good friends from work!! Not too bad.

Much anxiety led up to those moments when we would leave our four babies at home with grandma and two babysitters. You see the last time we left the kids was about 6 years ago at about the same time as this trip was ging to take place. I was super nervous but honestly had a peaceful calm feeling that everything really would be all right, as opposed to the gut feeling that something bad was going to happen 6 years earlier.

Lists were made, schedules were created, daily activities in trader joes bags were out together, meetings were held, and routines were explained. It was then time to board the plane to Jamaica. From that moment on for the next week we were treated like royalty. Our names on signs, personalized taxis, and hotel suites for for kings. Couldn't ask for anything more!!!

Our suite overlooked the ocean. It was breathtaking. There wasn't too many idle moments we could just sit on the balcony and enjoy but it was amazing when we had the chance!
This is literally our view. From the moment we got there we hit the ground running with our bucket list of things to do. We went sailing several times, enjoyed glass bottom boat rides, got stuck in the gazebo pictures above whole the rain poured down on us... We figured that since we had been stuck for ten minutes already and there seemed to be no other option but to run back to our room in the rain. We were soaking wet and it took two days for my clothes to dry out ;) totally worth it. Each day we woke up and went to the gym and burned a few calories so that we could enjoy all the food we wanted when we wanted... For free. We even ordered room service a few times because who orders room service?!?! And we were certain we wouldn't ever order it again. It was open bar as well so we had as many drinks as our hearts desired!!!

We went on a booze cruise which we enjoyed drinking water to keep from getting sea sick and then we went snorkeling. We were able to visit margheritaville and slide into the ocean on a real love slide and played on water toys, jumping on trampolines in the ocean and climbing the iceberg. It was amazing to hang out with the hubs all day and do whatever we wanted! Doug went deep sea fishing and caught the best darn log in the ocean. We went to Dunn river falls and it was absolutely gorgeous.

We had some opportunities to get all fancied up with our drowned rat hair in the 95% humidity and have nice dinners as even a ball!!! Well I wouldn't necessarily say it wa a ball but it's pretty much the closest thing I will come to a ball ;). It was fun chilling on the dance floor with my babe!!!

We has such a great time even though our returning flight stayed on the Tarmac for 2 hours. Hurrah. The girls were so excited to see us they stayed up until 11pm waiting for us!!! It wa a much needed and much appreciated vacay. Savannah of course gave everyone a run for their money and Mikenna and the it's girls were happy for a change of pace but they missed us. ;)
